History

- Cobalt grew up in Sinnoh all his life, though was never able to leave Twinleaf Town unless he was headed to a city with his parents and brother, a boy named Victor who was three years older than him. He always loved exploring with them, no matter where they went, and especially loved it when he went with his dad flying on the back of a Staraptor.- When he was nine years old, Cobalt witnessed a pokemon battle for the first time ever, a one on one between a Charizard and a Banette. The sight of two people so in sync with pokemon in a test of strength captivated him so much that from that moment on, he knew what he wanted to be: a pokemon trainer.- At one point, he and his family took a family trip to Alola, where during that time, Cobalt had met someone named Aspen, who he knew by the name Bug, for that's what she is normally called.- Come Cobalt’s twelfth birthday, his father had given him two gifts that would last with Cobalt for an eternity: a pokemon egg and a special black watch, one of his dad’s oldest. The black watch had never left Cobalt since that day, and that egg hatched into something amazing: a little Riolu that would soon make an inseparable pair with the new trainer.- A couple days later, the small family had gone on a picnic to Lake Verity, just next to their town, where the young Cobalt could swear that he had seen a pink fairy-like Pokémon, though no one else had seen it, except possibly his older brother. From what Cobalt remembered through a flashback, he remember the 'mon turned into an orb of energy that entered his core, but no other activity from it arose since.- A few weeks after Riolu had hatched, Cobalt’s father went on a business trip out in a region he had yet to reveal. Two weeks passed before his Staraptor came flying with a wounded wing back to Cobalt’s home. Cobalt’s father had gone missing, and was not heard from again, and there has been no word about him since then.- When Cobalt was about fifteen, he was out in the grass one day with Riolu when Riolu had detected the sound of someone crying a bit of a ways away. Cobalt followed after his pokemon for a while, only to see Riolu now sitting in the grass with a small off-colored Ralts that was crying into the jackal’s shoulder, hugging him tightly. It won’t be known until later on that this Ralts had recently been orphaned by hunters, but Riolu knew it, and this shiny Ralts became Cobalt’s second pokemon.(RP content will be added to roleplay history from this point forward)

Roleplay History

- (March 30th, 2020) A couple years later, Cobalt was going back into his house with his Riolu alongside him and went to his room, where he discovered a gift on the desk. Curious, he opened the gift up and exposed a pokeball inside, one that had been sent from a relative in where else but Unova. Wanting to meet the pokemon, he released the ‘mon inside and exposed it to be a discolored Zorua named Ghost, which had immediately proceeded to prank Cobalt and Riolu with its illusion powers. Once everything was settled down, Ghost eventually became Cobalt’s third (and one of his sassiest) pokemon.- (April 25th, 2020) Later on, when Cobalt was walking through Sandgem and sat on the beach, his Riolu had sensed something nearby and rushed to investigate, causing Cobalt to worry and chase after them. Soon, they had found a discolored Froakie, half starved and unconscious, lying on the beach. Out of worry, Cobalt took the Froakie to the nearby center and when it woke up, gave it food and was nice to it. When they began to go their separate ways and Cobalt was just outside Twinleaf, however, he realized the Froakie was following him and saw that they wanted to come along with him. Agreeing with one another on a deal of sorts, the off-colored Froakie joined Cobalt’s team as his fourth party member.- (April 27th 2020) Two days later, Cobalt was returning home by crossing through Eterna Forest when he and Riolu had a rather odd encounter with a wild Lucario. The interaction was slow, and the Lucario had shown him the power of aura, allowing him to see through it for a few moments before alerting Cobalt that his father was still alive somewhere in the world. Once he had said this, he warned that Cobalt's life would change forever from that moment forward, before fleeing into the forest and leaving the pair alone.- (May 1st 2020) While spending some time in Floaroma Town, Cobalt began to start sensing the aura after that Lucario had shown it to him, and while following Riolu, managed to bump into another RIolu named Lupin, who recently joined a younger trainer named Deliah, who was visiting Sinnoh at that time.- (June 3rd-4th, 2020) A month later, Cobalt had finally decided to leave his home region of Sinnoh to go and explore the world, and thus, went on a boat to travel to Alola. Some time into the trip, however, a big storm rammed into the boat and shook the boat around, and guess who was outside during all this? None other than Froakie. Cobalt, in a rush, grabbed a poncho and went outside to retrieve Froakie, only to see a pokemon emerge from the waves for a couple seconds, none other than Kyogre itself. When it splashed into the water again, it rocked the boat violently and sent Cobalt back into the ship, banging his head and rendering him unconscious until the next morning.- (June 4th 2020) Upon arrival in Alola, Cobalt decided to surprise/scare an old friend of his named Aspen, or more preferably called Bug, meeting up with her in Melemele Island. From there, he went ahead and began to explore the island itself and experience whatever he could while he was there.- (Mid June 2020) Through some vigorous training in Alola, Cobalt's team grew in strength overall and Ralts had managed to evolve into a Kirlia, though through this, he became more serious about training and learning his true strength.- (Late June - June 26th 2020) After in Alola, Cobalt decided that his next destination would be to go to Kanto, and once he was prepared, he set off from Alola and arrived in Kanto. No sooner than he did, his pokémon (Riolu and Froakie) ran off and encountered none other than Deliah and Lupin once again.- (July 22nd 2020) Near the night, Riolu had sensed something in Viridian Forest that was extremely off and decided to run and check on it, Cobalt tailing behind him. What they found was a very bashful and scared Bulbasaur, though it seemed to be mutated and his Dex app didn't recognize it. Having made a promise before he found it, he contacted Deliah about it and showed her the Bulbasaur, learning that she, too, had a mutated 'mon, specifically a Greninja, coined as being a Dyna pokémon. He learned that they were still unstable, however the Bulbasaur (deemed Bee) was much more stable, and he therefore decided to raise her normally to see how she would progress, adding a special fifth member to his team.- (July 24th - 25th 2020) Once he had nothing more to do in Kanto, Cobalt decided to set off to his next region of choice, which was, in fact, the Galar region. Before he did, though, a Champion friend by the name of Elio had sent him a Dawn Stone for Kirlia, which, the day he was in Galar, evolved the 'mon on their consent and want, and Kirlia evolved into a full-on Gallade, making him Cobalt's first fully evolved team member.- (July 27th 2020) While training in the Wild Area with Gallade and the others, Cobalt had a surprise encounter unknowingly with the Champion of Galar, Teddy, and her Cinderace, Stellar. Stellar, upon seeing how Cobalt trained his team, decided to entrust him with one of the many eggs they got from the daycare. However, none of them knew if it was a Scorbunny, Wooloo, or Morpeko egg, as they all got mixed up.- (August 2nd 2020) Late in the night/early in the morning, the egg that Teddy had given Cobalt had finally hatched, and out came a very energetic and very cheerful Scorbunny that was soon to be named Ada, and she immediately showed how energetic she could be straight out of the egg.- (August 6th 2020) Cobalt decided that, since he was close by, he'd decide to visit a relative to thank him for sending Ghost, that relative being his grandfather, a man named Mustard. However, some events occurred that made Ghost run off on her own, and through it all, she finally returned... with a female Kubfu coming along with her. After some talk and negotiation, Kubfu eventually was decided to tag along with Cobalt (and mainly Ghost), making her the next addition to Cobalt's team.- (August 7th - 8th 2020) After meeting with his relative, Cobalt flew out to his next region of choice, which happened to be the largely-known region of Unova, where some of his ancestry originated from.- (August 14th 2020) Late at night, Riolu and Gallade both sensed something off nearby, RIolu claiming it was a Dyna Pokémon. When the three went to the rooftop with Frogadier as well, they discovered it was another Dyna Pokémon, a Gallade that was enraged. After subduing it and calming it with Gallade using Hypnosis, they struck a deal with them to stick around, and naming himself Dyn, the Dyna Gallade joined the party without being caught by Cobalt.- (August 16th 2020) Deciding to cut his time in Unova short so he could be close to Johto for the Wind Festival, Cobalt went back to Kanto, where once again, he ran into Deliah, who requested a battle with him. Accepting, they initially sent out Frogadier and Wukong (Deliah's Chimchar), but both Riolus intervened before the battle began and fought each other, the match ultimately ending as a tie when both Pokémon collided with charged Force Palms.- (Early September 2020) For his last world travel stop, Cobalt had decided to go to Fula City in Johto for the Wind Festival, participating only in the Pokémon Catch Race at the time. On the last day of the Festival, apparently something had occurred that set many people in a panic, however two Top Rangers were already acting on the scene and handling the crisis. Most details of the event remain unknown, however no casualties, thankfully, were reported. This is also suspected to be around the time Cobalt encountered Hoopa, as well as his first experience with the masked group later identified as the Court of Noctowls.Around this time as well, after watching Cobalt perform in the Catch Race, one of the Top Rangers (named Kellyn) approached Cobalt and put an offer to recommend him to the Ranger School in Almia. Unsure of what to do with this proposal, Cobalt said he'll contact Kellyn when his choice is made, and the next day, Cobalt went back home to Sinnoh for second semester.- (September 19th 2020) After some conversation with a young boy named Victor (often called Victy to avoid confusion), Cobalt realized where his heart stood when it came to helping others, and after a bit more pondering, he contacted Kellyn so he could get ready to transfer to Almia's Ranger School.- (September 20th 2020) After having spent the whole day with Riolu out in Snowpoint City, Cobalt and his partner decided to explore the mountainous area for a little while before they had to fly back home, soon crossing the territory of a shiny Metagross, which was dubbed Metagross Mountain. However, while here, they were attacked by a black-clothed figure in a kabuki mask who had what seemed to be said Metagross helping him, except it was not what a shiny looked like. After fighting it and barely escaping the blast of a Hyper Beam, Riolu (with the help of Cobalt and his aura) managed to trigger his long-awaited evolution of a Lucario, using Aura Sphere to stop the Metagross and Force Palm as a diversion so the pair could escape via Staraptor unseen. Oddly enough, though, they quickly learned Lucario's sense and power over aura was much weaker than it should be... at least, when Cobalt was not around or close to Lucario.- (October 18th 2020) After some time in Kanto and some final goodbyes to his team (namely Lucario), Cobalt and Hoopa set off to Almia to begin Cobalt's time in Ranger School.- (October 19th 2020) After taking an admissions test, Cobalt was completely in the Ranger School now, meeting some variety of students due to him being such a late transfer, namely a Galarian named Ryan, a fellow Sinnohian named Christopher, and a Unovan named Wanda.- (November 2020) Being rather uneventful, Cobalt had been keeping on top of his studies, as well as being assigned a very long-term project with three others (mentioned above) that resulted in him obtaining yet another egg.- (December 13th 2020) Receiving a vivid flashback from his past and remembering what the pink fairy-like Pokémon he saw all that time ago looked like, Cobalt drew a picture of what it looked like. When he went to ask others he knew what it was, he only received concern and worry from them after they pointed out what he encountered was, in fact, Mesprit... at least, its soul.- (December 21st 2020) Late at night, Hoopa had woken up upon hearing a sound outside the dorm, waking Cobalt up so they could investigate. Soon learning it was Wanda that was making the noise, they stuck with her to learn what she was doing; searching for an odd Meowth. Joining her and heading outside, they went n search of the Meowth by following an odd trail, only to be stopped by a masked man with psychic powers. With the help of a Gengar, they tried to take Hoopa away, but after some defensive action, Cobalt and Hoopa were able to drive back Gengar and the masked man, and Cobalt's Rotom-Phone was able to register the unknown Meowth form as another "undiscovered species," which the trainer suspected was yet another Dyna Pokémon.- (January 21st 2021) Yet another late night for the teen, he was laying in bed as a certain riddle his dad left for him came to mind, fiddling with his watch. After some fiddling, he learned there was something hidden inside, some sort of combination lock. After messing around and getting the time 11:24:27, the lock opened, and the thing he had been looking for, a promised Keystone, was unveiled.- (February 2nd 2021) As he was chatting with his older brother, Victor, he learned from the relative that they could no longer keep up payments on the family home, and Kobaruto learns that it's very likely they'll have to move all their stuff out of the house, their mom needing to move as well. This leaves Cobalt distraught once he's done talking with Victor, and he tells Christopher about it in Japanese, not knowing Ryan understood them and was listening.- (February 3rd 2021) After classes were over, Cobalt went to his dorm bunk and felt something under the pillow. it was a good deal of money, though not too much. It was enough to pay off the house for a little while longer, but not for too long. Not knowing who sent it, he was quietly thankful for that person's nice deed, and later that day, he sent the money to his mom.- (February 13th 2021) Cobalt receives a text from Deliah saying Lucario was kidnapped by a masked man who had a new Dyna, a Dyna Noctowl. In a panic due to knowing who she was referring to, he quickly came to Kanto in search of Lucario, hoping to find him as soon as possible.- (February 14th 2021) The next day, Cobalt gets a call from Victy saying that a masked man is attacking the park with what looks like Lucario. Fearing what happened to his partner, he quickly goes to Kanto with Hoopa's help and sees for himself what happened. Lucario was under the masked man's control, the same one that attacked him in Sinnoh, and just like the Metagross, was different in coloring. Suspecting further mutations, Cobalt fought Lucario himself, but was greatly overpowered by his controlled friend, about to lose him to a forced Mega Evolution.Something odd happened to him in this moment, though he rarely lets on about what it is. all that was mentioned was something about a pink Pokémon speaking in his mind and telling him to activate his Keystone as well. He did that very thing, and through sheer willpower, was able to free Lucario's mind.What exactly happened in those few moments is unknown, but the result was a Mega Evolved mutated Lucario, which had been freed of its control and was now siding with Kobaruto. The power of this new form was unknown, but was evidently high, and after having to fight the masked man (now identified by the name Tyr) and their Armored Tyranitar, the two passed out upon Tyr's fleeing, but not without him leaving a device that could help Lucario switch between normal and this new form.Afterwards, they were hospitalized due to their extreme exhaustion and injuries, but it was clear their bond was much stronger now, and their auras seem to be identical now, minus their unique signatures.- (February 15th - 19th 2021) Soon after awakening, though, Cobalt, over the next four days, was starting to change, to mutate, due to a bite in the arm he got from Lucario when he was being controlled. On the 15th, he seemed to be extremely sick, and his irises had turned red instead of his signature blue. The next day, his hair had turned Lucario blue, and he had a slight natural growl to his voice. The third day, he had grown cream fur and was developing spikes, now being considered a gijinka in these terms. The fourth day, he had turned into a full-on Lucario, with the same powers and strength as one, but still the same person.The night of the 18th, Wanda had agreed to stay with him to watch over him and monitor his condition when Tyr himself went to visit and offer to fix Cobalt's condition, putting a mask on him to sedate him with an aerosol. Wanda resisted his offer, and when things escalated, she was shot in the shoulder. Tyr injected a serum into Cobalt while he was unconscious and sedated Wanda the same once her wound was crudely patched.The next day, on the 19th, Cobalt woke up and he was completely normal again, off to tend to Wanda's wounds. He seemed to be 100% normal once again... or that's what he thought.- (February 21st 2021) Cobalt suddenly learns that his aura-kin gene has escalated in its power much quicker than it normally should have. He contacts Wanda about this and explains it to her, then they both make a plan to see Cobalt's longtime friend, a boy back in Sinnoh named Carlos, who was amazing with technology and knew how to monitor Cobalt's ever-developing aura-kin powers.

- (February 23rd 2021) Cobalt and Wanda head to Sinnoh and meet up with Carlos, a teen who can't properly use his legs without braces or a wheelchair. They head into Carlos's underground base, where he works on his main projects and gets into his mechanical braces, his way of walking around. The three analyze Cobalt's sudden spike in aura power capabilities, theorizing it must be linked to when Cobalt had turned into a Lucario, that it must have sped up his gene's development and power tenfold. They then created a plan to use this as an opportunity to rebel and fight against the Court, going into the process of making a suit and helmet they could use to conceal Kobaruto's identity and protect him when he fought against them.- (March 6th 2021) It was the internship day at the Ranger School, and Cobalt, alongside Ryan and Christopher, were interning at the local Ranger Base in Vientown, meant to bring an extremely important parcel to them to the hill just past the beach. When they did, there were sounds of distress nearby in the nearby forest, and they all went to investigate while keeping the parcel safe. There seemed to be a forest fire in the area, so the Rangers went to work to putting out the fire. Cobalt got separated from the pack, however, and soon encountered yet another one of the Court Leaders, who was named Yama. Having what looked like a Dyna Yanmega, they were armed to the teeth with all sorts of technology, meaning to capture Cobalt with whatever force was needed.Eventually, he was able to drive off Yama, but not without seeing them flee using some sort of grapple technology. Noting the sight of that, he would contact Carlos later once he reunited with the Rangers, the forest fire dealt with. When they returned to the hill with the parcel, which was miraculously undamaged, they opened it up, only to see that this extremely important mission was just to deliver a boxed lunch. They all had a laugh about it, went to eating, and the day proceeded (thankfully) without much eventful encounters.- (March 8th 2021) Cobalt asked a question about the Froakie line, soon leading to him telling Deliah he was asking for a specific reason. He met up that night with her and explained his plan to fight against the Court. Her worry came out, pointing out he could possibly die for doing this. Cobalt tells Deliah he's aware of the risk, asking who he would be if he didn't try to stop them.- (March 12th 2021) After a long wait, Cobalt gets an email from the Ranger Union that he has been stationed in Kanto, specifically in Vermilion City, and he's overjoyed by this since it means he'll be around close friends of his.- (March 19th 2021) The night before graduation, Cobalt was messaging a friend before a soft knock was at the dorm door, Hoopa checking quietly to see who it was via ring portal. Learning it was the Principal, Cobalt opened the door and quietly chatted with him, soon being led to the Staff Room downstairs. There, the two were discussing the teen's performance for a bit before Lamont entrusted Cobalt with a special device: a Master Ball. Cobalt was hesitant to accept it, while Hoopa became curious by it, but eventually, the teen did accept it, and then returned to his dorm quietly.A little later that night, the sight of the Master Ball arose a question from Hoopa to Cobalt about what he knew about Pokéballs, and he mentioned that they were meant to solidify bonds, as well as provide a safety measure for the Pokémon captured by them. After giving his answer to Hoopa, the Mythical then asked what Cobalt would do if he had an open opportunity to capture someone special like Hoopa, and Cobalt gave his honest answer that it wasn't entirely his choice, that it was the Pokémon's choice. Amazed and reassured by this answer, Cobalt had now fully earned the djinn's trust, and gave Cobalt a specially designed Pokéball, and after a heartwarming hug, Hoopa pressed the button, and was captured by Cobalt, but to have his own free will and not be in the ball unless it was an emergency.- (March 20th 2021) Graduation day was here, but only then did Cobalt remember why he was hesitant to accept the supposed Master Ball; he was made aware of Wanda's strong dislike to it and Silph Co. After bringing his guests over via Hoopa's ring portals, this fear came true, as Wanda found out Cobalt got the Master Ball from Lamont before they went to the ceremony.After the ceremony and the crowd was outside, there was a massive Pokémon that attacked the school grounds, though it was unclear what it was, suspected to be a Water type. After asking the Principal where they were, Cobalt went to retrieve three Stylers for himself, Christopher, and Ryan, rounding them up after apologizing sincerely to Wanda and giving her the Master Ball for her to use if it got too bad out there.When he rounded them all up, they went outside via Hoopa's ring portal and saw the attacking Pokémon was a Feraligatr, and after much dodging and protecting the School from stray attacks, the three eventually wore down the Feraligatr enough so Cobalt could finish the capture, with the help of the training Pikachu used for tests. Later, it was revealed the entire thing was set up as a test for all the graduates to see how they would react in an emergency, with all the guests and staff knowing about the plan, and they all performed very well. It was then shown that the Feraligatr was trained to act a certain way, the Master Ball was fake and was merely a disguised Great Ball, and the two Top Rangers Cobalt saw in Fula City, Kate and Kellyn, had been on the side, hidden and ready to act if needed, which they didn't need to.Later, at sunset, Cobalt, Wanda, Christopher, and Ryan met at the Pledge Stone, taking turns explaining who they were as people, their pasts (briefly), and why they came to the Ranger School to begin with. After revealing this to each other, they all made a pledge together, a promise to help others, keep themselves healthy, never forget their personal and true reasons they're doing this, and to always remain friends. Once they made this promise, they all left to have one last outing together, and were off to start their new lives.- (March 21st 2021) Cobalt began to move his stuff to Vermilion City and where he would be staying with the Rangers, meeting the Rangers and Operator he'd be working with in that base. Afterwards, he quickly stopped by the Union to receive his Ranger Uniform and his Ranger grade Styler. Once he had this, he went back to moving his stuff, which will still take some time to manage.- (March 29th 2021) Cobalt visits Wanda briefly to receive a gift from her, one of the first working prototypes of the Master Ball that she was allowed to do what she saw fit with thanks to her dad. He chose to let Hoopa hide it for him to resist further temptation.That night, he visits Carlos to check on their vigilante project and sees it is ready with a basic setup. Cobalt goes out that night in Vermilion City and prevents a mugging and possible shooting occurring against a well-off family of three, dubbing this vigilante side Orcus to conceal his true identity.(End of info, you are now at current day events!)
